THANKSGIVING

Where are the Nine? by Walter Rane
I hope and pray that I will always remember from 'whom all blessings flow'. Our mission has helped us to recognize more clearly what the Lord has truly done for us. We are so grateful to be here. When I contemplate the blessings that I have received throughout my life, I know that someday I too, like the leper, will lie before the Savior and 'bathe his feet with my tears'.

THANKFUL FOR SCOUT CAMPOUTS
Victor, Nate, Gabriel, Noe, Tommy, Arturo and Giovanni
We managed to pick the coldest weekend thus far to schedule our campout. Fortunately all the boys survived and no one lost any fingers or toes. The campsite was at Shawnee Mission Park, a large regional park that is fairly close to the chapel. There is a great 18 hole disc golf course in the park and so after eating and cleaning up Saturday morning we headed over there to test our skills. Disc golf is not as easy as it looks and I was soon humiliated humbled.

 THANKFUL FOR THANKSGIVING AT JAMES'

Thanksgiving at James was what we hoped for - spending time with the kids, visiting, playing games and of course eating lots of turkey. This year, Robyn offered to cook the turkey and bake monkey bread. Kaui made the mashed potatoes, cranberry salad, pumpkin pie, macaroni salad and baked yams. Plenty of food. :)
James and Kaui invited a young couple that had just moved in and when they found out that the sister missionaries in their ward did not have dinner appointment - set three more chairs at the table. Life is good.

Josh wanted to do something 'fun', so we went on a bike ride while the turkey was in the oven and found a neat tree to climb. The weather was a little nippy, but the company was great.

THANKFUL FOR THE TEMPLE
Ramon Andrade
Sometimes, the road back to the temple can be long and difficult, but it is always worth it. There are few things in life sweeter than sharing the joy and the covenants that are to be found in the temple with close friends and family. Ramon is a great example to us of not losing sight of the important things. I know that the temple will continue to help him keep those 'important things' in view.
